Shengquan Peak

With an elevation of 870 meters, Shengquan Peak is situated on the eastern side of Hengshixi in Wushan County, facing Denglong Peak to the west. Also known as Dadan Mountain, it is celebrated in ancient verse: “A still pool mirrors the shore of the Way; myriad cascades irrigate fields of learning.” Within its rugged and uneven landscape stands a hilltop shaped like a lion, before which lies a smooth, silvery-white rock—like a silver medallion hanging around the “lion’s” neck, locally referred to as “The Lion Wearing a Silver Medal.” Below the peak flows a continuous spring with sweet, refreshing water. The spring winds down the mountain, creating a breathtaking sight. The mountain is named after the spring and is called “Shengquan Peak” (Sacred Spring Peak).
