With an elevation of 820 meters, Pine Ridge Peak is situated on the northern bank of the Wu Gorge, right next to the eastern side of Goddess Peak. The summit is round, surrounded by verdant pines with dense foliage, resembling the shape of a hat box. It is also called Hat Box Peak. The peak earned its name because of the pines covering the ridge. In days gone by, ancient pines were everywhere, creating a vast, dense forest. When the mountain wind blew, the rustling of the woods surged like tides and waves. People entering the area felt as if they were in the midst of a stormy sea. On a night when the bright moon hung in the sky, with the pine forest silent and birds resting after their flight, a serene and tranquil atmosphere emerged, as if one had ascended to a heavenly realm.
