With an elevation of 740 meters, it is situated to the west of Qingshi Town on the southern bank, opposite Shen Nü Stream. The mountain stretches from west to east, shaped like a flying phoenix soaring through the sky and bending down to drink from the river—thus earning the name Flying Phoenix Peak. The Goddess turned a golden phoenix into a mountain peak, which remains in Wu Gorge as a stunning landscape, keeping her company day and night. This is the present-day Flying Phoenix Peak.
