Ascending Peak

With an elevation of 780 meters, it lies 6 kilometers east of Shennü Stream and on the eastern side of Qilitang. Ascending Peak boasts steep and rugged cliffs, with a sharp summit jutting prominently and standing firmly against the sky. One of its ridges tilts upward, as if floating and about to fly up into the clouds, resembling a colossal bird ascending to the heavens—which is how it got its name. Additionally, because the shape of the peak resembles a roc spreading its wings and soaring upward, local people also call it Eagle Rock. From the summit of Ascending Peak, you can gaze far across the mighty Yangtze River, which cuts through the clouds and rains of Wushan, with a single body of water rushing forward amid a host of towering peaks. You can also see the Daning River winding through the vast mountain ranges like a silver ribbon floating among the hills.
