The Daxi Site is located in the 3rd Community of Daxi Village, Daxi Township, Wushan County, Chongqing. It contains cultural remains from the Neolithic Age through the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The site primarily features remains of the Daxi Culture from the Neolithic Age, where over 300 graves from the Daxi Culture period have been discovered, along with numerous pits containing artifacts, fish bones, dogs, and cattle. Several thousand cultural relics and specimens have been unearthed. The Daxi Site is the westernmost Daxi Culture site discovered to date and holds significant importance for studying cultural exchanges between the eastern and western ends of the Qutang Gorge, as well as the westward expansion of Chu culture during the Spring and Autumn Period.
