The Wuzhishan Butterfly Farm is located in Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province. Wuzhishan – the kingdom of flora and fauna in Hainan.

Among them, butterflies are the most commonly seen animals. Thanks to the vast tropical rainforests in the Wuzhishan area, which provide ideal conditions for butterflies to inhabit, grow, and reproduce, the mountainous rainforest region centered around Wuzhishan is home to over 600 species of butterflies, accounting for 50% of all butterfly species in China. Of these, 70% are ornamental butterflies, characterized by their large size, vibrant colors, and unique forms. Among them, seven rare and precious species include swallowtails, brush-footed butterflies, and cabbage butterflies, while the most beautiful swallowtail species alone number 48, making up 51% of the national total. As a result, butterflies are a major highlight of the forest scenery in Wuzhishan. If you’re willing to visit Wuzhishan, these colorful and graceful little creatures are sure to bring you plenty of joy. Just imagine seeing various yellow, black, and multicolored butterflies fluttering and playing among the jungle as you hike; or, when you’re tired from climbing and take a rest on a stone bench under flowering trees, occasionally having a butterfly land on your shoulder like a petal. This experience will surely help you forget the hustle and bustle of city life and make you feel the gentleness and warmth of nature.

The Wuzhishan Butterfly Eco-Farm has now been preliminarily completed, and beautiful swallowtail butterflies have been successfully bred in the farm. In addition, the farm has extensively transplanted and expanded three major types of plants: parasitic plants, moisture-loving plants, and ornamental plants. A first phase of cultivation has successfully grown 50,000 high-quality plants across 20 flower varieties, covering an area of 200 acres. As a result, when you walk into the Wuzhishan Butterfly Eco-Farm, you’ll be greeted by fragrant flowers everywhere, with bees flying and butterflies dancing, truly making you feel as though you’re in an ocean of flowers and a world of butterflies. The eco-farm officially opened to visitors in 2006.
