Wuzhishan Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area

Wuzhishan Rainforest, also known as the Wuzhishan Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area, is located in Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province.

The Wuzhishan Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area is located in Shuiman Township at the foot of Wuzhishan Mountain in Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province. It is 28 kilometers from Wuzhishan City, about 110 kilometers from downtown Sanya, and approximately 100 kilometers from the LingShui exit on the eastern expressway between Haikou and Sanya.

The Shuiman River, the mother river of the indigenous Li people, flows through the entire scenic area. Formed by the mountain spring water of the primeval forest on Wuzhishan, the crystal-clear Shuiman River presents a beautiful blend of motion and stillness. At times, the water rushes violently, like a thousand galloping horses; at other times, it lies mirror-flat, reminiscent of the lakes in Jiuzhaigou. Strolling through the scenic area, you can listen to the murmuring streams nearby, watch colorful butterflies dancing around you, and breathe air rich in 10,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter—transporting you back to a dreamlike green, primordial era.

The Wuzhishan Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area also features typical landscapes of both tropical montane rainforests and tropical valley rainforests. The area is covered with towering ancient trees and dense vines, with rare flowers and plants everywhere. There are mother-son trees whose trunks are forever joined together, wild tea trees with miraculous medicinal properties, and buttress roots that block your path like wooden screens... all of which are a feast for the eyes. And don’t forget to visit the observation platform to gaze directly at the 1,868-meter-high roof of Hainan — Wuzhishan Mountain. Its majestic five peaks stand side by side like outstretched fingers reaching for the sky, emerging and disappearing in the sea of clouds, seemingly within arm’s reach and fully visible before your eyes.
