Taiping Reservoir

Taiping Reservoir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The far end of Taiping Reservoir is just a stone's throw away from Yuchuan Village. In addition to Taiping Reservoir, Yuchuan Village has two other reservoirs. One is called Shuikeng Reservoir, whose water is extremely clean and serves as the drinking water source for the entire village. The other is called Wawan Reservoir, an irrigation-type reservoir that is larger in area than Shuikeng Reservoir, with roads leading right up to the water’s edge. Since there are no villages upstream of Wawan Reservoir, its water quality is also very good. Surrounded by mountains, it is a great spot for a picnic. During holidays, many locals come to Wawan Reservoir to enjoy barbecues and outdoor meals.

Yuchuan Village is located in the northeast of our city, 25 kilometers from the urban area. It lies at the far end of Taiping Reservoir, in a relatively secluded environment. The village is situated in a small mountain basin, like a paradise on earth.
