The Martyr Li Shuoxun Memorial Pavilion is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Martyr Li Shuoxun Memorial Pavilion is a National Key Martyrs' Memorial Building Protection Unit, one of the first 100 national patriotic education bases, a project funded by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Civilization Office for the renovation of patriotic education bases, and a Hainan Provincial Revolutionary Tradition Education Base for Youth. It is located at No. 39 Xuntin Road, Qiongshan District, Haikou City. The managing authority is the Haikou Museum.

The Martyr Li Shuoxun Memorial Pavilion was built in 1986. It has an overall rectangular layout, faces south, and covers an area of 6 mu. It consists of four parts: the memorial pavilion, the martyr’s statue, inscribed calligraphy, a stele corridor, and an exhibition hall. The memorial pavilion is 6.1 meters high, with a horizontal plaque inscribed with the words “Martyr Li Shuoxun Memorial Pavilion” written by General Wang Zhen. In front of the pavilion stands a granite statue of Martyr Li Shuoxun, 1.2 meters tall, on a 2-meter-high base. The front of the base is inscribed with the words “Eternal Glory to Martyr Li Shuoxun” by Comrade Deng Xiaoping. On both sides of the base are engraved “A Brief Biography of Martyr Li Shuoxun” written by Comrade Li Yimang and “Li Shuoxun’s Last Letter to His Wife Zhao Juntao.” Behind the memorial pavilion is a long corridor with yellow walls and green tiles, inlaid with 10 marble slabs inscribed with personal inscriptions and calligraphy from leaders such as Zhu De, Nie Rongzhen, Guo Moruo, Wu Yuzhang, Zhang Aiping, Zhou Shidi, Li Yimang, and others, commemorating the martyr. To the west of the pavilion is the “Exhibition Room of the Life and Achievements of Martyr Li Shuoxun,” named by Comrade [Name]. The exhibition room is spacious and bright, with an orderly layout, displaying a large number of precious photos, documents, and the martyr’s personal belongings. Various evergreen plants and flowers that bloom in different seasons throughout the year are planted around the memorial pavilion. The entire structure is solemn, simple, and beautiful, set within an elegant environment.

Li Shuoxun (1903–1931), from Gao County, Sichuan Province, was born on February 23, 1903, in Qingfu County, Sichuan Province (now Gao County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province). He was one of the pioneers of the Chinese Communist Party who was involved in leading military struggles in the early years. In 1926, he married Zhao Juntao in Shanghai. In May 1928, he went to Hangzhou and once served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee and acting secretary of the Provincial Committee. In June 1931, he was appointed Secretary of the Military Commission of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CCP. Sent by the Party, he came to Hainan to guide armed struggle.
