The Monument (Pavilion) to the Martyrdom Site of Lin Wenying was built in 1923 by the Nationalist Government. The front of the monument is inscribed with “Martyr Lin Wenying’s Martyrdom Site,” the left side features a biography of the martyr, and the right side bears a quote from Sun Yat-sen: “His noble spirit lives on forever.” A towering fir tree planted by overseas Chinese donations stands beside the monument, symbolizing the everlasting spirit of the martyr. Ten meters west of the monument is the “Memorial Pavilion,” which is 7 meters high and 15.6 meters wide, built with a reinforced concrete frame and glazed tiles. The pavilion is open on all four sides, supported by four round pillars, with an arched door top and engraved seal script reading: “Memorial Pavilion for Martyr Lin Wenying.” The inner surfaces of the pavilion’s four corners are inscribed with the “Honor Roll” of donors who contributed to the construction of both the monument and the pavilion.
