Hainan Flower World & Qiongzhou Cultural Street is situated along the scenic Nandu River and spans 500 meters, positioned at the key junction between Meilan Airport and central Haikou. As a cultural-themed street that combines tourism, leisure, dining, shopping, academic pursuits, and cultural preservation, it leverages its prime location and resource advantages to become a significant new attraction for Haikou tourism, as well as the final stop for visitors exploring, relaxing, and shopping in Hainan before leaving the island.

Embracing four major functions—Qiongzhou culture, ecological culture, tourism culture, and culinary culture—Qiongzhou Cultural Street will serve as Haikou’s new urban ecological landmark and a welcoming parlor for all海南 residents.

Developed under the high attention of the Haikou Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, Qiongshan District Party Committee, and District Government, Hainan Flower World & Qiongzhou Cultural Street is invested in and constructed by Haikou Shangdao Baihui Cultural Development Co., Ltd. The project centers around 30 uniquely designed, rustic, and eco-friendly large exhibition halls built in the architectural style of the Li and Miao ethnic groups. With garden landscapes, rockeries, trees, stones, and bridges adding charm, the street is dedicated to becoming Hainan’s largest tourism commodity exhibition base, a demonstration site for Haikou’s intangible cultural heritage, a forestry product exhibition base for Haikou, and a showcase for Hainan’s pristine rare plants.

Qiongzhou Cultural Street actively promotes the development of Hainan as an international tourism island by introducing global tourism cultural elements. The area includes three functional zones: the Hainan Tourism Commodity Exhibition Area, the ASEAN Tourism Commodity Exhibition Area, and the International Cuisine & Leisure Dining Area. Here, visitors can find top-tier local specialties such as Hainan huanghuali wood, ancient Hainan ceramics, and Li brocade, as well as artworks from five ASEAN countries including red and blue sapphires, jade items, crocodile skin crafts, and wood carvings. A variety of snacks from Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are also available to taste.

The lead developer of Qiongzhou Cultural Street, Dongguan Fulin Timber Industry Co., Ltd., is a comprehensive large-scale preservative wood production and processing enterprise. It undertook the investment and construction of all exhibition halls in the street, with a total investment of 50 million yuan. Another key developer, Haikou Xuanmei Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd., is a well-established landscaping company in Hainan responsible for the entire green landscape project of the street, with a total investment of 20 million yuan.

Key tenants in Qiongzhou Cultural Street include: “Tianya Weaver Girls”—the Li Brocade Museum, created by Hainan Jinxiu Textile Shell Industrial Co., Ltd.; “Sea Snail Girl”—the Shell Art Museum, developed by Hainan Wanmei Industrial Co., Ltd.; the Agarwood Museum, established by the Hainan Agarwood Culture Research Association; the Maritime Silk Road Museum, created by the Hainan Ancient Ceramics Association; and the ASEAN Tourism Commodity Exhibition Hall, led by Mr. Chen Yiliang, a native of Wenchang, Hainan, China, who holds Thai nationality. Mr. Chen brought the Thai Chiang Rai SME Chamber of Commerce to join the street, bringing in 30 overseas merchants.

From May 20 to 26, 2012, the “First 2012 China Tour of ASEAN Countries’ Tourism Commodities in Hainan” was held at Hainan Flower World & Qiongzhou Cultural Street. Exhibited goods included dozens of categories such as Thai root carvings, leather goods (crocodile skin, lucky fish skin, etc.), fragrant rice, Vietnamese rosewood, huanghuali wood, water buffalo horn combs, and Burmese jade. During the exhibition, Thai folk dance troupes and Muay Thai masters performed cultural exchange shows, comprehensively showcasing the exotic cultural charm of Southeast Asia.
