Zhongshan Park in Beihai is located on Beibu Gulf Middle Road in the northern part of downtown Beihai. Established in 1928, it is the city’s oldest and most fully equipped comprehensive park. It has been open to the public free of charge since 2003. The park currently covers an area of 12.14 hectares and includes functional zones such as a children's playground, cultural and entertainment area, senior citizens' activity area, animal exhibition area, "garden-within-a-garden" bonsai area, and park management area.

The roads within Zhongshan Park in Beihai are structured around a radial star-shaped network, interspersed with a free-form road system, with an inner loop road connecting all functional zones. The entire park is lush with trees that provide ample shade, including majestic banyans, magnolia trees, camphor trees, and royal palms—many of which are rare ancient and notable species. Distinctive tree groves include the magnolia forest, camellia forest, sapodilla forest, bamboo forest, and golden bamboo forest. Unique plant sculptures crafted from the city’s tree, the banyan, such as "one tree becomes a forest," and those made from the city flower, the bougainvillea, such as "peacock spreading its tail," "sea lion," and "kangaroo," showcase remarkable artistry.

The "Garden-within-a-Garden" houses a variety of Lingnan-style bonsai for visitors to admire.

The children's playground offers a range of popular amusement facilities.

The animal exhibition area displays various kinds of precious animals.

The senior citizens' activity area is equipped with facilities such as an activity center, gateball court, and pergola for the elderly to relax and enjoy recreational activities.

The open-air dance floor in the cultural and entertainment area is open to visitors from morning until 11 p.m.

Sun Yat-sen (1866–1925), whose given name was Wen, courtesy name Zaizhi, literary names Jixin and Yixian, childhood name Dixiang, and alias Zhongshan Qiao, often used Zhongshan as his name.
