Beihai Waisha Seafood Island is the largest seafood distribution hub in Guangxi and one of China’s most renowned seafood dining destinations. Following the completion of the newly planned Waisha Island, two international seafood food festivals will be held annually, along with regular fireworks displays over the sea, helping to establish Waisha’s seafood culinary culture as a global attraction. This will position Waisha as a world-class tourist destination on par with Silver Beach. Designed by the world-renowned planning and design firm Belt Collins Hong Kong Limited, the island not only preserves and promotes the affordable and delicious street-food style of Waisha seafood but also fully integrates various resource advantages, making Waisha Seafood Island another unique tourism gem in Beihai. Beihai is an international coastal tourist city, ranking first among major cities in China for its air quality rich in negative ions—making it highly suitable for vacationing and recuperation. Waisha Seafood Island is located in the northern part of Beihai, surrounded by the sea and stretching in a strip shape, boasting a 2-kilometer-long coastline that offers some of the best ocean views. The Waisha Seafood Island project strongly emphasizes the dual themes of tourism, vacationing, and seafood gastronomy, striving to create positive social, economic, and environmental impacts.

Waisha Seafood Island features nine functional zones, with architecture that prominently showcases South Asian and European styles. The diverse and distinctive cultural atmospheres allow visitors to experience the feeling of traveling abroad without leaving the country. The construction period for the first phase was from 2001 to 2003, with a total investment of approximately 160 million RMB. The second phase will encompass the entire island, transforming Waisha Seafood Island into a multifunctional tourist destination integrating sightseeing, shopping, seafood dining, and leisure entertainment.
