The modern architectural heritage of Beihai is located in Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. These historic sites possess significant historical value and serve as important testimonies to China’s modern social, economic, architectural, religious, and opening-up history. They also provide precious documentation of cultural exchanges between China and the West.
The modern architectural heritage of Beihai is located in Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. After the signing of the Sino-British Chefoo Convention in 1876, Beihai was designated as an open port for foreign trade.
On June 25, 2001, the modern architectural heritage of Beihai was approved by the State Council to be included in the fifth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units as an important modern historical site and representative architecture.
