Former Site of Joan of Arc Girls' School

The predecessor of Joan of Arc Girls' School was a British girls' charity school run by the Church of England’s Anglican Church, established in 1890, which exclusively taught classes for girls. The curriculum included scripture, geography, and letter writing. In 1924, it was officially named Joan of Arc Girls' School, and it was also the earliest primary school in Beihai.

The former site is located within the compound of the current Municipal People's Hospital. It was built around 1905. The two-story building features an arched structure, with the main structure measuring 16.3 meters in length and 8.65 meters in width, covering a floor area of 280 square meters. It currently serves as the library of the Municipal People's Hospital.

In modern times, churches from Britain, France, Germany, the United States, and other countries successively established their own missionary schools in Beihai. Today, only Joan of Arc Girls' School remains. It stands as a historical witness to the establishment of missionary schools by Western churches in Beihai.
