Guangxi Yanxia Mountain Scenic Area

Guangxi Yanxia Mountain Scenic Area is located in Yandun Town, Lingshan County, Qinzhou City, Guangxi. Its landform is composed of red sandstone (formed in rivers and lakes 60 million years ago), which has been shaped over centuries by flowing water to create majestic and unique terrain, geologically known as Danxia landform. It features typical development, complete types, rich forms, and exhibits characteristics such as grandeur, wonder, beauty, danger, serenity, mystery, and openness. Examples include Laozi Peak, which resembles an elderly face, the majestic and rugged Pillar Reaching the Sky, and the elegant and imposing Flower Dragon Ridge—spectacular Danxia wonders. The rugged mountains also boast enchanting waters, such as the meandering Silver Willow Waterfall, the picturesque Cave Heaven Waterfall, and the murmuring Dream Butterfly Waterfall, all showcasing the beauty of the Danxia ecological landscape.

The Yanxia Mountain Scenic Area is rich in natural ecological resources, including wildlife such as wild boars, masked palm civets, egrets, and leopard cats, as well as valuable medicinal plants like wild Dendrobium, honeysuckle, notoginseng, and ganoderma. The scenic area adheres to a construction philosophy that combines rural charm with ecological preservation, integrating local folk culture. It offers intangible cultural heritage displays such as the Tiaolingtou performance and Yandun Drum performances, and features a Folk Museum and various educational activity venues.
