The Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Introduction The Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden is located in the eastern mountainous area, about 8 kilometers from downtown Nanning. Covering an area of over 2 million square meters, it is a comprehensive site integrating sightseeing, scientific research, education, and production. It is also the largest and most diverse specialized medicinal botanical garden in China and Southeast Asia. The garden features lush trees, sprawling vines, and picturesque trellises, complemented by quaint bridges and flowing streams that add to its charm. Over 2,130 species of medicinal plants are cultivated here—more than double the number recorded in Li Shizhen’s Compendium of Materia Medica—and it is hailed as a three-dimensional “Compendium of Materia Medica.” The garden is divided into seven medicinal zones: the Guangxi Specialty Zone, Medicinal Efficacy Zone, Shade-Loving Plants Zone, Woody Medicinal Plants Zone, Herbaceous Medicinal Plants Zone, Vine Medicinal Plants Zone, and Medicinal Animals Zone. It brings together southern, northern, locally unique, and imported medicinal plants from across the country and abroad. The medicinal flora includes shrubs, trees, vines, and herbs, while the medicinal animal zone houses rare species such as black-leaf monkeys, rhesus monkeys, sika deer, and flying squirrels. The Medicinal Botanical Garden is not only a great place for leisure and recreation but also an excellent destination for expanding your knowledge.
