Nanning People's Park

Nanning People's Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Nanning People's Park, founded in 1951, is the first comprehensive cultural and recreational park constructed in Nanning after the city’s liberation. The park spans 51.3 hectares, comprising 44.7 hectares of land, 6.6 hectares of water areas, and 37.2 hectares of green space. The Wangxian Slope stretches across the park from east to west, adorned with dense forests that are lush, solemn, and graceful, while the Bailong Pond is like a piece of smooth jade embedded in the greenery.

With its beautiful mountains and clear waters, the park presents picturesque landscapes interwoven with rich historical and cultural significance. Notable attractions and cultural relics include Wangxian HuaiGu (Nostalgia at Wangxian), the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Monument, the Zhenning Fortress, Bailong Pond, the Children’s Playground, and the Shade Plants Garden. Among them, Wangxian HuaiGu is one of the ancient “Eight Scenic Spots of Yongzhou,” and was named one of the “Top Ten Scenic Views of Green City” in 2003. The Revolutionary Martyrs’ Monument is a cultural relic protection unit of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and also serves as a base for patriotic education in Guangxi. The Zhenning Fortress is listed as a cultural relic protection unit of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Children’s Playground features over 30 large, medium, and small amusement facilities, making it one of the most well-equipped and diverse entertainment venues in Nanning.

The park officially opened to the public free of charge on May 1, 2008, and receives approximately 8 million visitors annually. Since its establishment, it has earned numerous honors, including National AAAA-Level Tourist Attraction, Guangxi Key Park, Guangxi Civilized Unit, Guangxi Advanced Unit in Urban Greening, Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Education Base, Nanning Advanced Unit, Nanning Greening Advanced Unit, the highest award of “Grand Prize” and “Outstanding Contribution Award” at the first China International Green Expo, the Gold Award for Outdoor Scenery at the Hong Kong International Garden and Flower Expo, the Gold Medal Award for Outdoor Scenery at the 9th China Chrysanthemum Exhibition, and the Special Prize for Urban Garden Design at the 2nd Guangxi Garden and Horticulture Expo.
