Baimo Cave is located on the west side of Poyue Village, Jiayan Township, Bama Yao Autonomous County, approximately 30 kilometers from the county town. It is a magnificent limestone karst cave, with an entrance facing south that stands nearly 100 meters high. The front and rear sections of the cave stretch for about 2,000 meters in total length, and when including all the branching tunnels and upper caves, the full cave system spans up to 10,000 meters.

The uniqueness of Baimo Cave lies in the fact that most of its stalactite-formed landscapes rise prominently from the center of the cave chambers. Visitors can admire these city-sculpture-like formations from various angles: the Big-Bellied Laughing Buddha, the Lion’s Roar, the Peacock Paying Homage to Guanyin, the Heavenly Horse Galloping Across the Sky, the Dragon Playing in the Palace, Pearl Curtains, Silver Pillars Reaching the Heavens, Offering Longevity, Du Fu Reciting Poetry, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Monkey King’s Golden Cudgel, and hundreds of other sights that leave visitors awestruck. Towering stalagmite clusters, some as thick as several people hugging and reaching up to 39 meters in height—the tallest and largest in the world—earn it the title of one of the world’s greatest wonders.

Ascending from the right side of the first level cave entrance via steps leads to the second level cave, which sits 100 meters vertically above the first. This section features arrays of stone shields, widespread stone curtains, and pearl-like paths. If the first level cave is known for its grand and majestic features, then the second level impresses with its airy elegance and delicate transparency. The forest of flat-shaped stalagmites elevates this part of the cave to the status of a world wonder, hence earning the reputation as the “Number One Cave Under Heaven.”

Climbing about 50 meters upward from the second level leads directly to the third level, locally referred to as the "Imperial Palace." The cave scenery here is bizarre and dazzling, with crystal-clear and exquisite stalactites taking on lifelike shapes and forms. The maze-like intricacy is bewildering, resembling a beehive, and one could easily get lost like in a Bagua formation, wandering around for a long time without finding the way out. The entire cave interior resembles a winter wonderland in the north, with nature's craftsmanship leaving visitors in constant awe at every turn.

Baimo Cave offers three distinct levels, each with its own unique scenery. “After seeing Baimo Cave, no other cave compares” is the heartfelt praise given by travelers from both China and abroad.

In 1987, British geological experts praised Baimo Cave as the “Number One Cave Under Heaven” after conducting research. Jiayan Town: Jiayan Township is situated in the northwest of Bama Yao Autonomous County. It borders Xiashan Township to the east, connects with Nashe Township to the west, adjoins Bama Town to the south, and neighbors Paoli Township of Fengshan County to the north. The township government is located 19 kilometers from the county town. The township currently has 11 village committees, 175 natural villages, 185 villager groups, and a total population of 29,350 as of 2009. The total area covers 152 square kilometers.
