Cifu Lake is located in Cifu Village, Bama Town, about 6 kilometers from the county seat. It is an artificial lake formed at the confluence of the lower reaches of the Panlong River and the reservoir area of the Yantan Hydropower Station on the Hongshui River, covering an area of approximately 10,000 mu. The scenic area features evergreen mountains and perennially clear waters, where the lake and hills enhance each other’s beauty. To the east stands Husband-and-Wife Rock, to the south gushes the Four-Tiered Waterfall, while to the northwest lies the Sleeping Beauty in a serene repose, and to the west the Lotus Peak gazes back from its foothills. Both the near waters and distant hills exude charm, earning it the nickname “West Lake of the Yao Mountains.”

The most delightful way to explore Cifu Lake is to take a boat ride under the moonlight. With misty shadows dancing on the water, sparkling fishing lights dotting the scene, and every view worthy of a painting, the atmosphere resembles that of a classical Chinese painting — reminiscent of the poetic mood of “Spring River Flower Moon Night,” enhanced further by the soft melodies of traditional instruments and the gentle voices of singers. Paired with tea tasting and quiet conversation, bathed in silver moonlight and caressed by the refreshing breeze, one feels both body and soul purified by nature. It's a perfect getaway for urban dwellers long confined in noisy cities and troubled by the hustle and bustle. Once you step into this idyllic place, you'll find it hard to leave.

This is a large lake formed in the Panlong River section of Cifu after the impoundment of the Yantan Hydropower Station. Located 8 kilometers east of Bama County, it is divided into southeast and northwest sections by the majestic Cifu Bridge, which spans the northwest part of the lake. At 396 meters long and 39 meters high, it is the largest multi-structure bridge in Guangxi. To the south of the bridge rises Weihan Mountain, over 600 meters above sea level, while to the north stands Shili Mountain, more than 500 meters high. These two mountains guard the bridgehead and overlook the lake, presenting a majestic sight. From a high vantage point along the lakeshore, one can see many mountain ridges, with their lower halves submerged, leaving their peaks to form hundreds of islands and peninsulas, creating the ever-blue Cifu Lake that unfolds before visitors.

Stretching from the Sanjiangkou Bridge in the northwest to 3 kilometers past Bogui Village in the southeast, Cifu Lake extends for dozens of kilometers with an average width of about 400 meters. Here, the water winds around the peaks, and the waterways stretch far. Sheer cliffs, solitary peaks, and the bubbling springs that nurture centenarians all contribute to this shimmering highland lake. In midsummer, as the sky clears after rain, mists gradually lift. Gazing from the bow of a boat, the emerging peaks in the mist resemble bamboo shoots shedding their husks or the faint outline of dragon spines. Clusters of bamboos sway near the slopes, leaning toward or away from each other as if in close conversation. Around the shores, waterfalls and springs cascade down, birds occasionally take flight, and fishing boats line the banks — a perfect picture of a watery paradise. The deep parts of Cifu Lake are unfathomable. To the right, rolling hills are covered with lush flowers and trees year-round, while to the left, rocky mountains present a variety of spectacular shapes. It's an ideal spot for boating, fishing, exploring the new villages in the reservoir area, and enjoying the beautiful lake and mountain scenery.
