Layered Green Screens The Layered Green Screens stand on Cuiping Mountain to the west of the county town. They consist of six gracefully overlapping peaks, resembling a circular chair. The ridges are lush and layered, with uniquely striking and elegant forms. Steep cliffs stretch horizontally, encircling and guarding the entire town. Majestic and spectacular, they look like a gigantic screen, hence the name. The mountain features Bat Cave Rock, and within it are Guanyin Rock and Longevity Rock. To the left is Lion Rock, and to the right are White Tiger Rock, Zhenxian Rock, and others that dot the landscape. At the foot of the mountain, stone stalagmites stand in dense clusters, and clear springs flow endlessly. Zhenxian Rock serves as a revolutionary martyrs’ cemetery. Two parallel rows of mountains overlap, with the main peak of the front row rising over 400 meters and that of the rear row over 600 meters. The mountain range runs from south to north, stretching about 1.5 kilometers from its southern end to its northern end, with a width of approximately 10 kilometers around. There are several cup-shaped valleys among the hills. Zhang Ruisheng, a poet from Anyang Town, wrote the poem “Cuiping Mountain”: “Rain and dew bathe the screen, / Breezes wash the emerald green. / The mighty lion crouches in place, / While bats soar high on their own. / Clear waters flow past the mountain, / All of Anyang comes into view. / Layered rocks bear inscriptions of blessings and longevity, / The Bodhisattva is truly compassionate.”
