Fushou Double Rock

Fushou Double Rock is located on the left side of Cuiping Mountain in Anyang Town. The cave is 9 meters high, 6 meters wide, and 11 meters deep, with a spacious and flat bottom that can accommodate hundreds of people. In front of the cave, there are serene flowers and lush trees. According to the provisional edition of the Du'an County Annals from the Republican era, in the fifth year of the Guangxu reign (1879), the Anding Tusi official had a pathway built to allow visitors to climb the rock for sightseeing and enjoyment. After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, to avoid air raids by Japanese planes, the Du'an County government relocated its archives, documents, and weapons and ammunition into the cave for storage. In the 32nd year of the Republican era, the county government allocated funds to build a new road, installing railings along the path and constructing the "Dengshou Pavilion." The pavilion gate was inscribed with the couplet: “A thousand vistas of clouds and mist lie before our eyes; the joys and sorrows of myriad homes weigh on our hearts.” There are 360 steps from the mountain foot to the cave entrance. Along the left side of the path, the stone walls are inlaid with dozens of poems by literati and scholars from various dynasties who visited the cave. At the cave entrance are three large characters “Fushou Yan” (福寿岩, Fushou Rock) inscribed by Liang Fangjin, and two large regular-script characters “Fushou” (福寿, Fortune and Longevity) inscribed by Provincial Commander Li Huaxin. The character “Fu” (福, Fortune) measures 0.73 meters in height and 0.78 meters in width, while the character “Shou” (寿, Longevity) is 1.0 meter in height and 0.73 meters in width. Inside the cave and along the path, more than 20 pieces of calligraphy and poetry are carved, including verses such as: “The beauty of the scenery relies entirely on artful embellishment; the newly built pavilion rivals the work of heaven. Why do so many locals flock here in succession? Because fortune and longevity dwell within this very place.” The inscriptions come in various styles, including regular script and cursive. In April 1982, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
