Xiqufan Site

The Xiqufan Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shanxi Province.

Xiqufan Site (Fourth Batch of Provincial-Level Protected Sites)

Era: Zhou Dynasty

Location: North of Xiqufan Village, Jinjing Township, Yanhu District

According to the Pingyang Prefecture Records, Qufan Village was the site of the ancient Xun City, which covered a wide area, extending over one kilometer in both length and width. The general cultural layer deposits are all more than four meters thick, and a large number of pottery shards from the Eastern Zhou, Western Zhou, and Han dynasties have been unearthed. The site’s location, scale, thickness of accumulated deposits, unearthed artifacts, and cultural characteristics largely correspond with the records in historical texts.
