Yanhu District Museum
The Yanhu District Museum was established in October 1958 as a local comprehensive history museum. The original site was the Guanwang Temple built in the seventh year of the Zhengde era (1512) during the Ming Dynasty within Yunsicheng. In January 2007, it was relocated to the Shun Emperor Mausoleum Scenic Area, 10 kilometers north of the city. The new museum covers an area of 25,000 square meters, with a building area of 9,600 square meters, including an exhibition hall area of 3,000 square meters, a cultural relics storage area of 800 square meters, and a collection of 8,586 sets of cultural relics, among which over 200 are classified as precious. The collection prominently features bronzeware, pottery, porcelain, and jade artifacts. The museum includes permanent exhibitions, thematic exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, and an academic lecture hall.
The permanent exhibition “Light of Yanhu – Historical Relics Display” showcases the long and glorious development history of Yanhu District from prehistoric times to the eve of liberation through more than 400 fine cultural relics.
