Zheng Dajin’s Former Residence

Zheng Dajin’s Former Residence is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Zheng Dajin’s Former Residence is located in Xianmei Village, Yujiao Town, Jiedong County. It includes both a new and an old residence. The old residence was built during the Ming Dynasty as the ancestral home of the Zheng family. In front of the old residence are stone lions and flagpole bases that represent Zheng Dajin’s official rank. The new residence is located to the south of the village, constructed during the Qianlong era as an official building. It faces south with a northern orientation, and has three formal halls along with two fire alleys on the east and west. The Zheng residence is built against a hillside, with a spacious courtyard, pond, and rice fields stretching out flat in front. Behind the residence are gardens, study rooms, and other structures.
