The Meilin Lake Ruins are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Meilin Lake Ruins are located on the northwest bank of Meilin Lake in Anbu Town, Chao’an County. The site covers an area of approximately 80,000 square meters. It dates back to the Neolithic Age and the Zhou Dynasty. It was discovered in 1960. The deposits contain a large number of shells, including oysters, clams, razor clams, and snails. There are two cultural layers. The upper layer mainly features clay pottery, while the lower layer is dominated by sand-tempered pottery. Excavated pottery includes cauldrons, jars, dou (food vessels), spouted pots, and net sinkers, with decorative patterns such as cord marks, leaf vein patterns, basket weave patterns, appliqué patterns, and kui dragon motifs. Stone tools include shellfish scrapers, perforated tools, axes, adzes, and halberds. Based on artifact analysis, the lower cultural layer may date to the same period as the Chaozhou Chenqiao Village Site, while the upper layer likely extends to the Western Zhou or Spring and Autumn periods.
