Xinkao Dragon Kiln

Xinkao Dragon Kiln is a cultural relics protection unit of Chaozhou City.

Xinkao Dragon Kiln is located in the mountainous area of Hongxiang Village, Fengtang Town, Chao’an District (near the current Shenkeng Bridgehead), dating back to 1976.

In 2016, Xinkao Dragon Kiln was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Chaozhou City.

Hongxiang Village: Hongxiang Village

Also known as Hongpan. It lies 21.4 kilometers northwest of Anbu, the county seat of Chao’an, and 3.2 kilometers southwest of the Fengtang Town government. The village has a population of 3,114. Established in the late Song Dynasty, it is home to residents of various surnames, but the Hong family was the most prominent, hence the name Hongxiang (Hong Lane). Later, due to the flourishing of the Xing family and the relocation of other families, it was also called Hongxianglong Xing (Hong Lane dominated by Xing). Additionally, since the character “Hong” (洪) is homophonous with “Hong” (鸿, meaning “great bird”), and symbolizing the image of a grand bird perched upon the land, it is also nicknamed Hongpan.

The settlement is distributed in an oval shape, with buildings mainly being single-story houses constructed from shell-lime brick and wood.
