The Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs of the Han Column is located in Dengtang Village, Dengtang Town, Chao’an District, dating back to 1954.

In 2006, the Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs of the Han Column was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Chaozhou City.

Dengtang Village:

Dengtang Village was established during the Song Dynasty. In its early days, surnames such as Chen, Lin, Lei, Peng, Zhang, Dong, Zheng, Wang, Xu, and Yang were present. Today, the main surnames include Ke, Guo, Lin, Song, Zhang, Peng, Xu, Li, Su, and Yang. Due to its location near a market hub, merchants frequently traveled through, and throughout history, other surnames have also settled here. Currently, at the village’s edges—such as Guanzilong in the east—there are still large remnants of former settlements. On the west side, Jiuzhaotou (also known as Zhaiding), is said to have been a settlement of the Dong clan, with ruins still visible today. As of December 2006, the village had a population of 5,826.
