The former residence of Chen Weinan is located in Sha’er Village, Shaxi Town, Chao’an District, and dates back to the Republic of China period.

In 2012, the former residence of Chen Weinan was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Chaozhou City.

Shaxi Town: Shaxi Town is situated at the northern foot of the Sangpu Mountain in the southwest of Chaozhou City, at the junction of Chaozhou, Shantou, and Jieyang. It covers a total area of 37.0 square kilometers, governs 17 village committees and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 55,200. In 2002, the town achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 784 million yuan, industrial and commercial tax revenue of 3.47 million yuan, and an average per capita net income of 3,717 yuan for farmers.
