The Huang Ancestral Hall of Tiantou

The Huang Ancestral Hall of Tiantou is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Chaozhou City.

The Huang Ancestral Hall of Tiantou is located in Tiantou Village, Jinshi Town, Chao'an District. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On April 16, 2020, the Huang Ancestral Hall of Tiantou was designated as part of the fourth batch of cultural heritage conservation units in Chaozhou City.

Tiantou Village: Tiantou Village is an independent natural village where all residents share the surname Huang. The founding ancestor, Scholar Huang, migrated from Shishi Alley, Putian County, Fujian Province, during the late Song Dynasty, bringing his family to settle at the top of Tiexin behind Mount Sangpu. The settlement was named Tiantou (Field Head). Later, due to the remote and sparsely populated location, the villagers relocated 8 kilometers away to Pingshuan (the current village site), where they established a new settlement but retained the original name. During the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty, a villager named Huang Yinshen was appointed as the Chief Official of the Nanjing Military Command in Beijing. After retiring, he built the “Jihu Hall” at home. In the 31st year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1766 AD), another villager, Huang Naizhen, earned an official title through imperial examination and was appointed as the Magistrate of Liangzhou Prefecture, Gansu Province.
