Tangdong Liu Tianbao Chastity and Filial Piety Archway

The Tangdong Liu Tianbao Chastity and Filial Piety Archway is a Chaozhou Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

The Tangdong Liu Tianbao Chastity and Filial Piety Archway is located in Dongsheng Village, Longhu Town, Chao’an District. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is categorized as an ancient architectural structure.

On April 16, 2020, the Tangdong Liu Tianbao Chastity and Filial Piety Archway was designated as part of the fourth batch of Chaozhou Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Dongsheng Village: Dongsheng Village

Dongsheng Village, also known as Tangdong Liu, is an administrative village that was independently established from the Liu Cuo area within the larger Tangdong natural village. It is situated to the north of Longhu Town and is primarily inhabited by the Liu and Yang surnames, with the Liu family being the majority. The village has a total population of 3,222, covers an area of approximately 1 square kilometer, and has 890 mu of arable land. There are about 1,500 overseas Chinese descendants from the village, whose ancestors originally came from Putian, Fujian. The main secondary industries in the village include pearl embroidery, computer embroidery, shoe manufacturing, clothing production, and furniture making, while the main agricultural products are rice, sugarcane, and vegetables. In 2005, the combined industrial and agricultural output value was 15 million yuan.
