The Shaohe Pearl Science and Technology Park is located in Xinxizhen, Longhu District, Shantou City, just 5 kilometers from the train station, 4 kilometers from the airport, and approximately 10 kilometers from downtown Shantou. It covers an area of about 70,000 square meters. Major attractions include the "World Shell Museum," "Pearl Products Exhibition Hall," "Pearl Research Institute," "Pearl Food Processing Room," "Pearl Cosmetics Processing Room," and the "Self-Harvest Pearl Activity." Among these, the "World Shell Museum" houses over a thousand shell specimens from more than twenty countries, while the "Self-Harvest Pearl Activity" allows visitors to dive into the pool themselves to collect shells, then open the shells to retrieve pearls, which our staff will process on-site into various pearl jewelry items. The science park centers around the World Shell Museum, supplemented by demonstrations of the pearl formation process and visits to the production lines of various pearl products. It integrates pearl research experiments, three-dimensional aquaculture, processing and sales, science education, tourism, and production operations. With beautiful surroundings and lush greenery, the park was designated as a "Shantou Science Education Base" by the Shantou Association for Science and Technology in 2001, making it an ideal destination for young people to learn about marine life and explore ocean culture. Visitors can not only gain a comprehensive understanding of the pearl formation process and the production of pearl products but also purchase authentic and satisfying Shaohe Pearl products.
