Sea Fishing Village

The “Sea Fishing Village” is located in Lieyu Bay, Shen’ao Town, facing Zhanlin Town of Raoping County across the sea to the north. Lieyu and Huyu (also known as Tayu) islands stand as natural gateways. The bay boasts wide waters, calm winds, and gentle waves, making it a natural haven for aquaculture.

This place was not only a vital defensive barrier for Shen’ao in ancient times, but also a key point along the Fujian-Guangdong shipping route and the Maritime Silk Road. It is also a renowned ancient maritime battlefield where national heroes such as Qi Jiguang, Zheng Chenggong, Liu Yongfu, and Yu Dayou fought to repel foreign invaders and reclaim Taiwan, leaving behind immortal chapters in history.

What was once a battlefield engulfed in war has now transformed into a vibrant blue pasture teeming with fish and shrimp. Rows of aquaculture net cages, seaweed bamboo frames, pearl oyster cages, green-lipped mussel clusters, and Pacific oysters all thrive here. The expansive tidal flats have been transformed by locals into a vast marine farming base covering thousands of acres, forming a “treasure basin” rich in premium seafood such as grouper, abalone, pearls, seaweed, prawns, and shellfish.

The area is equipped with tourist-specific boats, fishing platforms, and a seafront restaurant. Visitors can take sightseeing boats to cruise among Lieyu Island, Huyu Island, Golden-Silver Island, the Sea Fishing Village, the ecological integrated aquaculture zone, and the pearl farm.

In addition, the site plans to develop and enhance distinctive marine-themed experiences centered around ocean culture, including ocean sightseeing, fisherman’s experiences, boatman’s adventures, scuba diving, self-drive boating, and marine exploration, creating a unique island tourism brand.
