The Tropic of Cancer Monument in Nan'ao (Gate of Nature) is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Gate of Nature is situated in Qing’ao Bay at the eastern end of Nan'ao Island, and is the 11th Tropic of Cancer Monument constructed in China. This distinctive feature along the Tropic of Cancer is a unique sight in China and is expected to make a significant contribution to global astronomical and geographical studies. When the sun is directly overhead on the Tropic of Cancer, the shadow will pass through the central tube of the sphere above and project onto the center of the platform, making it one of the new attractions in Nan'ao. The construction of this Tropic of Cancer Monument in Qing’ao Bay adds a new member to the family of such monuments and represents another step forward in humanity’s deeper understanding of the Tropic of Cancer and the Earth.

The Gate of Nature is the 11th Tropic of Cancer Monument built in China, where the "upright post with no shadow" phenomenon can be observed during the summer solstice.
