Yangmei Guanyin Zen Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Yangmei Guanyin Zen Temple is located on General Mountain in Yanghe Town, Gaoming District, Foshan, Guangdong. The temple faces west and is nestled among surrounding peaks, offering a serene and elegant environment.

Originally built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, it was destroyed in 1940 and later rebuilt in July 1998 with approval from the provincial religious affairs bureau.

The temple is constructed in the traditional architectural style of ancient Lingnan temples, featuring a grand scale with a total construction area of 10,000 square meters. It includes structures such as the Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Main Gate, Scripture Depository, Thousand-Handed Guanyin Hall, Hall of Five Hundred Arhats, Merit Hall, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and monks' quarters. The Mahavira Hall houses a 9-meter-tall statue of Sakyamuni Buddha, attracting numerous worshippers and filling the air with incense. A visiting eminent monk once remarked that General Mountain strikingly resembles a laughing, big-bellied Maitreya Buddha, arms outstretched to cradle the temple, adding a sense of ancient charm and spiritual energy—thus earning the name Great Buddha Mountain.
