The Min Clan Ancestral Hall in Miluo

The Min Clan Ancestral Hall in Miluo is a cultural relic protection unit of Hunan Province.

The Min Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Minjia Lane, Sanxing Village, Baishui Town, Miluo City. Originally built during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, it faces south and is constructed of brick and wood, covering an area of approximately 1,200 square meters with a built-up area of about 995 square meters. The ancestral hall consists of three bays and three courtyards, arranged along a central north-south axis in sequence from south to north: the ceremonial gate, the worship hall, and the inner chamber. The two courtyards are flanked on both east and west sides by side rooms. Zhao Pan introduced that although the Min Clan Ancestral Hall is not large in scale, it is a representative example of ancestral hall architecture in northern Hunan. It integrates family culture, folk culture, ritual culture, and architectural culture, reflecting the lineage of clan culture in the region.

In 2019, the Min Clan Ancestral Hall in Miluo was included in the tenth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units in Hunan Province.
