Pitang Village, Zhitan Town is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Pitang Village, Zhitan Town, a national 2A-level scenic spot. Located in the northwest of Zhitan Town, Chaling County, the village is predominantly inhabited by three major surnames: Tan, Li, and Zhang. It is the hometown of Zhang Zhi, a scholar from the Ming Dynasty who served in the Wenyuan Pavilion. The village boasts rich cultural heritage, including red culture, ancestral hall culture, and scholar culture.

The former site of Lenin School was “Yujian Academy,” located on Zhoutou Ridge in Pitang Village, Zhitan Town. It is the only one among the thirty-eight ancient academies in Chaling County that has been fully preserved to this day. During the war period, it trained a large number of revolutionaries, and revolutionary slogans from that era can still be seen on the walls inside the porch at the entrance.
