The cliff rock carvings at Month 3 are a cultural heritage protection unit of Hunan Province.

Cliff Rock Carvings from Month 4 The area features the Lingyan Ancient Temple, located in Shaxi Village, Yantang, Chaling. It was where Chen Guangwen, the first imperial scholar of the Tang Dynasty from Chaling, studied, and his father Chen Cong ran a private school here. The Lingyan grottoes contain over 50 cliff rock carvings from the Song to the Qing dynasties, featuring regular, running, and cursive scripts. The stone carvings on the pillars are exquisitely crafted. It is a provincial-level cultural heritage protection site.
