The Yunyang Grand Canyon Tea Village Flower Sea Scenic Area mainly consists of three functional zones: an ecological tourism area centered around the Yunyang Mountain Grand Canyon, a forest wellness area centered on Wangshuigou, and a tourism commercial area centered on Tea King Ancient Town. The project is committed to firmly pursuing a distinctive agricultural-tourism-wellness development path featuring deep integration of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. By integrating theme resources, rationally arranging functions, naturally optimizing routes, continuously innovating products, enhancing key elements, and implementing scientific and operational management, the project accurately captures tourists’ psychological needs for health and leisure, forming a sustainable highland for development. Upon completion, the project will play a significant role in promoting the tea flower brand of Chaling County, spreading tea culture, enriching the “Three Teas” industry, and advancing the development of eco-health tourism and health-based elderly care in Zhuzhou.

The first phase of the project focuses primarily on the development of leisure agriculture and rural tourism. Seizing the opportunity of Chaling’s development of the distinctive “Three Teas” industry, and relying on the county flower (camellia), it strives to create a world-class camellia-themed park to enhance the camellia flower brand. First, it emphasizes the combination of industrial development and key infrastructure, adhering to high standards and comprehensive supporting facilities. Second, it highlights the integration of industrial development with tourism elements to retain both the bodies and minds of visitors. Third, it integrates industrial development with targeted poverty alleviation, earnestly implementing the key oil-tea industry for targeted poverty alleviation. Fourth, it combines industrial development with value-added enhancement, focusing on developing a series of camellia products to highlight the ecological industry characteristics of Huyuan.

“Tea Village Flower Sea” is both an industrial project and an ecological tourism project. In the second phase, leveraging the great opportunity of Yunyang Mountain being designated as a national 5A-level scenic spot and a key cultural heritage site, the project will focus on developing the pristine landscapes of Wangshuigou and the Yunyang Mountain Grand Canyon. It will organically blend natural scenery with Chaling’s profound cultural heritage, deeply developing resources such as the secluded valleys, peculiar rocks, lush forests, and clear streams of Yunyang Mountain.

The project is also an important measure to implement the “Healthy China” strategic plan proposed at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee. Chaling County is a national key ecological function zone. The third phase of the project will utilize the pristine natural environment of Yunyang Mountain and the Taoist health-preserving culture of Chisongxian to create a Shennong wellness paradise and a wellness resort for the Chinese people, developing tourism-based elderly care commercial real estate. It will be equipped with comprehensive medical and health facilities, serving mid- to high-end consumer groups by leveraging the project’s health and wellness benefits. The project will innovate new models of eco-health elderly care, establishing a wellness destination for the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region and the Hunan-Jiangxi border area, as well as a life-energy station for sub-healthy individuals.

Attraction: Flower Creek Garden

Flower Creek Garden is located within the national AAAA-level forest scenic area—Yunyang Mountain National Forest Park, and is a leisure resort integrating accommodation, dining, and forest wellness. Nestled quietly in the deep mountains and valleys, with towering peaks and clear springs surrounded by danxia landforms behind, the garden features lively mountain springs carrying the fragrance of the woods, gently flowing alongside soft sands from the deepest part of the valley. Peach Blossom Island

Peach Blossom Island is a warm and romantic islet situated in the clear Wangshui Lake. Nine peach trees planted along the island symbolize everlasting love. On the south side of the island is a “shouting fountain.” If peach blossoms represent sweet silence, then the shouting fountain is romantic with sound—for love must be spoken aloud. When March arrives and flowers bloom on the branches, birds sing joyfully, and a gentle breeze blows, filling the hillside with fragrance. Project: Camellia Garden

Camellia, also known as Chinese rose or camellia japonica, has a cultivation history of over 2,700 years in China. Blooming in winter and thriving under snow, though not as noble as peonies nor as fragrant as orchids, camellias win poets’ heartfelt praises with their fiery brilliance, as in the verse: “The Jade Emperor gathered them back to heaven, fearing no camellias would remain in Yongyang.” The blooming camellia is stunningly beautiful, and its withering marks the cycle of life. After the camellia flowers fade, they give way to camellia fruits. The mature seeds of the fruit, when pressed, yield camellia oil. Camellia oil is a premium natural edible vegetable oil—golden in color, pure in quality, fragrant in aroma, and mellow in taste—regarded as one of the finest oils. It was once bestowed by the emperor with the praise: “An imperial delicacy, a juice that extends life.”

It is said that while Shennong was tasting herbs in the Yunyang Mountain area, he was poisoned but saved by a particular plant. Traditional oil pressing is the crystallization of ancient wisdom in health preservation. Here, you can participate and personally experience this ancient oil-pressing craft—from seed sieving, seed rolling, seed roasting, to powder grinding, steaming the powder, pressing the cake, and then onto the highly mechanical beauty of oil pressing: setting up the press, inserting the wedge, and finally the powerfully rhythmic ramming motion. The hanging stone hammer, as the oil craftsman shouts “Heave-ho,” arcs gracefully through the air and rhythmically strikes the wooden wedge, allowing the golden, clear camellia oil to slowly flow out, filling the air with fragrance. Each process flows so naturally. Now, we have revived this millennia-old traditional oil-pressing technique, allowing it to be passed on. Bringing these rustic, ancient ingredients to diners in their most authentic form.
