The cave is located in Heshuikou Village, Pukou Town, on the southern slope of the Xuefeng Mountain, above a reservoir. In December 1986, students from Xiangtan University who were conducting fieldwork in Pukou discovered the cave while hiking and exploring. After local development, it has become a new attraction in Liling City. The Swallow Rock is a multi-layered karst cave that has been developed over an area of nearly 5,000 square meters. Inside, there are rapid underground rivers and stalactites that form scenic features such as the Dragon’s Mouth, Immortal Gathering Hall, Fairy Umbrella, Golden Lion, and Hippopotamus. At the cave entrance, there are pavilions, teahouses, and restaurants. A mountain road encircling the hills leads directly to the cave entrance via the reservoir. Outside the cave, overlapping mountains are covered in lush forests, and crystal-clear streams all flow into the reservoir. The integration of mountain, water, and cave makes it a truly captivating destination.
