Dajing Scenic Area

Dajing Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Situated in the southeastern suburbs of Zhuzhou City and about 15 kilometers from the city center, Dajing Scenic Area is the most famous ecotourism destination in Zhuzhou County. It is a tourist resort integrating sightseeing, vacationing, and entertainment, featuring natural landscapes marked by the symbiotic beauty of mountains, water, forests, and birds, as well as cultural relics mainly comprising ancient temple ruins that thrived during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Jinghu Lake within the area spans nearly 2,400 acres.

The scenic area is divided into three major zones: Xianfengling, Jinghu Lake, and Pingfengling. It boasts four first-tier attractions including "Golden Wheel Ancient Temple," "Valley Sound Stream," "Prime Landscape Spot," and "Bird Paradise," ten second-tier attractions such as "Xianfeng Scenic Realm," and twenty third-tier attractions like "Twin Wells Spring." Each offers distinct and captivating scenery. Since its establishment, the area has developed a series of reception centers integrating accommodation, dining, entertainment, vacationing, and conferences, including Jinghu Holiday Resort, Dajing Mountain Villa, Zui Xian Lou (Drunken Immortal Tower), Qifeng Garden, and Jinghu Restaurant. Additionally, infrastructure such as Baixian Road, Poshan Road, and parts of the lakeside walking trails have been constructed.

The area features majestic mountains, overlapping peaks, lush forests, and bamboo groves, accompanied by the sounds of birds and fragrant flowers. The clear and tranquil lake water presents ever-changing hues. Here, the shimmering waters reflect the surrounding landscape, while meandering streams wind through the heart of the mountains, their waters gurgling and crystal clear. Lush green islands dot the lake, attracting flocks of birds, while the verdant mountain hues are mirrored on the water’s surface, creating a unified scene of mountain and water—a perfect spot for boating and leisurely fishing. The shores of Jinghu Lake are crisscrossed with fields, vast fertile lands, golden rice paddies, fragrant fruits, and rising cooking smoke, presenting a poetic and idyllic rural scene. Poshan Ridge, also known as Xianfeng, is said to be the place where the Seven Fairies attained enlightenment. Its summit is often shrouded in clouds, offering a hazy and mystical view. The Golden Wheel Ancient Temple, originally built during the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties as a place of great spiritual activity. It stands as the highest point in the scenic area, though now only ruins remain. Ancient legends and scenic spots such as the Flying Bell of the Ancient Temple, Danxia Cliffs of the Barren Ridge, Tiger Listening to Scriptures, Lion Howling at the Moon, Distant Sails at Shigang, Sunset Glow over Pingfeng, Peach Blossom Rain in the Grove, and Twin Wells Spring together form the "Eight Scenic Wonders of Xianfeng."
