Longmen Ancient Tombs Cluster

The Longmen Ancient Tombs Cluster is a cultural relic protection unit of Liling City.

The Longmen Ancient Tombs Cluster (including the six sites: the Shizi Slope Tombs of the Jin Dynasty within Liling No. 4 Middle School, the Chapoling Tombs Cluster in Gongxing Group of Shangzhou Village, the Foshan Tombs Cluster in Foshan Group of Shangzhou Village, the Huyi Tombs Cluster in Xuetang Group of Shantan Village, the Qingyunshan Tombs Cluster within Liling No. 1 Middle School, and the Dongpo Tombs Cluster in the Ceramics & Fireworks Wholesale Market at Sitang Neighborhood Committee) is situated within the jurisdiction of the Longmen Subdistrict Office, dating back to the Han to Jin Dynasties.

On January 12, 2012, the People’s Government of Liling City announced it as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Liling.

Protection scope: Centered around each tomb chamber, extending 50 meters in all directions.

Construction control zone: Extending 50 meters beyond the protection scope in all directions.

Longmen Subdistrict: The Longmen Subdistrict is located in the eastern part of Liling urban area, Hunan Province. It originated from the former Jiefanglu Subdistrict Office, established in December 1986. At that time, its jurisdiction covered an area of 2.5 square kilometers with a population of 58,800, extending east to Shantan, west to Xishan Bridge, south to Lugu Bridge, and north tochedun Bridge, encompassing 15 neighborhood committees. In 1989, three neighborhood committees were transferred to the Huangni’ao Subdistrict Office. In 1995, another four neighborhood committees were assigned to the Chengdong Subdistrict Office.
