Dongjiang Lake combines the elegance of mountains with the charm of water. Dongjiang River Rafting is located in Huangcao Town at the southernmost end of Dongjiang Lake. The entire course spans 28 kilometers, starting from Longwangmiao (Dragon King Temple) and ending at Yanzipai, with a total drop of 75 meters and 108 rapids. As the river is flanked by pristine forests—lush, vine-draped, and alive with birdsong and floral scents—it is renowned for its natural rafting experience and hailed as “China’s No. 1 Eco-Tourism Rafting Destination.” On May 1, 2002, the Chinese women’s volleyball team participated in the inaugural rafting ceremony of Dongjiang River. The beautiful Dongjiang Lake and the thrilling rafting adventure left a deep impression on the players. In 2007, they returned to experience it again.

Huangcao Town: Dongping Township and Huangcao Town have been merged to form Huangcao Town.

A town under the jurisdiction of Zixing City. In 1949, it was part of the Erdu District; in 1956, Huangcao Township was established; in 1958, it was renamed Steel Commune; in 1959, it became Huangcao Commune; in 1984, it reverted to township status; and in 1993, it was upgraded to a town. Located in the southeastern part of the city, it is 43 kilometers from downtown, covering an area of 192 square kilometers with a population of 12,000. The town government was originally in Huangcao but moved to Shitouxia in 1987. The Ling (Xiù)–Huang (Cǎo)–Cháng (Yìng) Highway runs across the entire territory.
