It is located in Hengtangwan Group, Longfengta Village, Hongjiaguan Bai Ethnic Township, Sangzhi County, Hunan Province.

In 1935, before the Second and Sixth Red Army Corps carried out their strategic relocation and began the Long March, they left 23 wounded soldiers in Hengtangwan, Hongjiaguan, Sangzhi County. The local residents sheltered the wounded here. To care for them, they had to contend with the local armed forces while overcoming numerous difficulties to secure food and medicine for the injured. Some spun thread and wove hemp, and even sold their small plots of land to raise money, all in an effort to improve the living conditions of the wounded.

After several months of treatment, most of the 23 wounded soldiers recovered their health. For the liberation of the nation, they set off again on their journey and eventually returned to their units.

The former Red Army Convalescent Hospital was originally the Gu Clan Ancestral Hall in Hongjiaguan. Built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it faces west and consists of 26 wooden houses, covering a construction area of 532 square meters.
