In 2019, the former site of the Long March departure point of the 2nd and 6th Red Army Corps — the former site of the headquarters of the 5th Division of the 2nd Red Army Corps (Liujia Ping Bagua Tower and Residential Buildings) — was approved as part of the 10th batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units in Hunan Province.

Liujia Ping Bai Ethnic Township: Liujia Ping Bai Ethnic Township is the departure point of the Long March of the 2nd Front Army of the Red Army. It is located in the southeastern part of Sangzhi County, 15 kilometers from the county seat, covering a total area of 38.2 square kilometers. The township administers 6 administrative villages, 114 villager groups, 3,241 households, and 11,297 people, with the Bai ethnic group accounting for 95% of the total population.
