The Former Sites of the Red Second and Sixth Front Armies Breaking Through the Yuan River Blockade are located in Qijiaping Town, Huochang Township, Qinglang Township, and Nanmupu Township of Yuanling County, Huaihua City. Dating back to 1935.

In 2019, the Former Sites of the Red Second and Sixth Front Armies Breaking Through the Yuan River Blockade were approved as part of the tenth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units in Hunan Province.

Qijiaping Town: A township under the jurisdiction of Yuanling County. It was established as Qijiaping Township in 1956, became part of Guanghui Commune in 1958, reverted to Qijiaping Commune in 1961, and was re-established as a township in 1984. Located in the northern part of the county, it is 108 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of 111 square kilometers with a population of 13,000. The township government is seated in Qijiaping. The Yuan (ling)–Wu (qiangxi) and Wu (qiangxi)–Zhang (jiajie) highways pass through the township. It administers twelve village committees: Qijiaping, Taoping, Daqiao, Wujia, Heping, Wantou, Shangqiao, Lianghe, Tuanshanjie, Fusang, Shiping, and Zhangmu.
