As the Lunar New Year approaches, the “Taipei Lunar New Year Goods Street” celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, Taipei City Government has, from February 4 to 17, connected 11 major business districts in the city to launch district-characteristic Lunar New Year goods streets and the popular World Trade Expo Lunar New Year Goods Exhibition — Taipei Theme Pavilion. All handpicked festival discount goods can be purchased in one go,Not only that, but a series of Lunar New Year cultural experience activities have also been launched on Dihua Street, making the entire Taipei your Lunar New Year goods street. In addition, this year’s “Taipei Itinerary” combines for the first time with illustration brand “Sleepy Sheep Star” to depict curated district tours, gathering selected Taipei shops and offering the public benefits worth over NT$150,000, plus the creative 3D “Fortune Flying Sheep” red envelope for the Year of the Goat — helping everyone “make” their own good fortune.

The Lunar New Year Goods Street is not only a classic commercial event during Taipei's festive season, but after 20 years of refinement, it has become an important cultural asset rich in local culture and everyday consumer history. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Dihua Street Lunar New Year Goods Street event. To drive Spring Festival consumer opportunities and promote Taipei’s characteristic business districts, the Taipei City Government has specially connected 11 major business districts and the World Trade Expo goods exhibition, filling Taipei’s Spring Festival with stories and human warmth. In addition to Dihua, Ningxia, Houbus Station, Taipei Underground Mall, and Station Front Underground Mall, Huayin Street and Rongbin, Ximen, Yuanling, Siping, Beimen, and Zhongnan Book Street also join in the festivities. The range includes trendy clothing, leather goods, books, 3C products, and more, allowing different groups to purchase discounted specialty goods and also experience the distinctive culture of Taipei’s business districts while strolling around.

In addition, this year’s “Taipei Itinerary,” in its first collaboration with the illustration brand “Sleepy Sheep Star,” not only provides exclusive tour recommendations for different types of visitors in Taipei, but also invites selected high-quality Taipei shops to offer consumption discounts. Over a hundred shops are participating, with total benefits exceeding NT$150,000. Taipei Itinerary can be picked up for free starting January 30 at Taipei City tourist service centers, district offices, and international airports. The creative 3D red envelope “Fortune Flying Sheep” allows the public to “make” their own good fortune through DIY assembly. Sleepy Sheep Star costumed characters and city government representatives will walk around the business districts during the Lunar New Year Goods Street period to distribute them.
