Tanghu Park is located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (Zhuankou), adjacent to Checheng Avenue, and is the first municipal-level park within the development zone. The park covers a total area of 555 acres, including 240 acres of water surface.

The park is primarily characterized by a series of landscapes embodying Chu cultural features and stately, classic Chu-style architecture, set against a backdrop of diverse native trees of the Chu region. It integrates garden landscapes and sightseeing, making it a comprehensive park with profound green ecological and cultural significance. The park features expansive, shimmering lakes that blend seamlessly with the sky. With its undulating terrain, lush vegetation, and seasonal blooms, the scenery varies beautifully throughout the year, resembling a green jewel embedded in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Currently, the park has established several premium gardens, including the Chu Garden, High Mountains and Flowing Water, Furong Garden, and the Long Corridor. The park contains both mountains and water, with varied topography, a rich diversity of plants arranged in distinct layers, and stunning natural scenery. The cotton rose hibiscus is the signature flower of Tanghu Park, with over 4,000 plants scattered throughout the grounds. The Furong Garden is situated in the southeast corner of Tanghu Park, covering an area of approximately 13,000 square meters, including 4,000 square meters of water area and 9,000 square meters of green space, offering beautiful scenery. The garden embodies Chu culture and "hibiscus" culture, featuring a carefully designed landscape with a variety of hibiscus cultivars such as white hibiscus, red hibiscus, yellow hibiscus, mandarin duck hibiscus, drunken hibiscus, and seven-star hibiscus. These are thoughtfully combined with other plants, complemented by pavilions, waterside terraces, trellises, waterfront platforms, and small scenic elements, creating an ecologically natural and artistically expressive landscape garden. It is a popular leisure destination for residents of Wuhan.
