Hekou Watchtower

The Hekou Watchtower is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

Hekou Watchtower

Located in Hekou Village, Banqiao Town, Nanzhang County. Built during the Republic of China era, it served as a defensive structure for the Li family residence. Situated at the southwest corner of the residence, it was constructed with earth and timber using the rammed-earth method. The tower has a square floor plan, measuring 3.2 meters on each side, and stands approximately 10 meters tall with four levels. It features observation and shooting holes. The entire structure is a private residential building that combines defense and living functions, serving as an important physical artifact for studying grassroots social life during the Republic of China period.
