Yingcheng Confucius Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

Yingcheng Confucius Temple

Located on Central Street, Chengzhong Subdistrict Office, Yingcheng City. Originally built in the late Chunxi era of the Song Dynasty (1189), it was rebuilt in the seventh year of the Chenghua era of the Ming Dynasty (1471). Over time, it experienced multiple periods of abandonment and revival, and today only the Dacheng Hall and Pan Pond remain. The Dacheng Hall was rebuilt in the fifteenth year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1835). It faces south, with a width of five bays (19 meters) and a depth of three bays (11 meters), featuring a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof covered with green glazed tiles and a brick-and-wood structure. After the late Qing Dynasty, the Yingcheng County Library and the People's Education Hall were once located here. This Confucius Temple is an important heritage site for studying the historical and cultural traditions of Yingcheng. (Fifth Batch)
